Among all the SOLID principles, the Single Responsibility Principle (SRP) has always stood out to me as amazing. This principle guides us to keep our classes focused on a single responsibility, paving the way for cleaner, more maintainable, and extendable code.
Consider a BirdCare class at left that tries to do everything, BirdCare accumulates responsibilities ranging from feeding to training, unnecessarily complicating the class.
To truly adhere to the SRP, in the class at right, we divide BirdCare into specialized classes. Now, each class has a single responsibility, making the system more coesive and easier to maintain.
The Single Responsibility Principle is a design philosophy that encourages clarity, modularity, and flexibility in our code. By applying the SRP, we not only improve the quality of our code but also make our applications more prepared to adapt and grow. #php #SOLID #BestPractices
